Save on Gas - Fill Up Tips

  1. Fill up your car or truck in the morning when the temperature is still cool.   All service stations have their storag
    Gas-prices
    Gas-prices
e tanks buried below ground; and the colder the ground, the denser the gasoline. When it gets warmer gasoline expands, so if you're filling up in the afternoon or in the evening, what should be a gallon is not exactly a gallon.
  2. Fill up when your gas tank is half-full, because the more gas you have in your tank the less air there is and gasoline evaporates rapidly, especially when it's warm.
  3. If you look at the trigger you'll see that it has three delivery settings: slow, medium and high.  You should be pumping at the slow setting, thereby minimizing vapors created while you are pumping. Hoses at the pump are corrugated; the corrugations act as a return path for vapor recovery from gas that already has been metered.  If you are pumping at the high setting, the agitated gasoline contains more vapor, which is being sucked back into the underground tank, so you're getting less gas for your money

Save on Gas - New Technology That Fits Any Old Car

The kit consists of two hybrid electric motors with rare earth permanent magnets that are mounted on the outside of the vehicle, which are tied to a 72V 120Ah Deep Cycle Lead Acid battery pack on the inside. According to Poulsen, once installed, the system effectively turns a front-wheel drive car into an all-wheel drive car, and results in a driving "effect" that is " equivalent to freewheeling down a 3% grade," with the accelerator needing to be depressed less or not at all to keep the car moving

Poulsen intends to make its kit available to the general public in the not to distant future, and for the relatively bargain price of $3,300, no less (add an extra $600 to that if you don't think you're up to installing it yourself).

Most Blogs Are Skimmed

clipped from www.readwriteweb.com

What Nielson found by analyzing the data in the study was that although people spend more time on pages with more words and more information, they only spend 4.4 seconds more for each additional 100 words. By calculating reading rates, he concluded that when you add more verbiage to a page, people will only read 18% of it.

Some other interesting findings include:

  • On an average visit, users read half the information only on those pages with 111 words or less.
  • People spend some of their time understanding the page layout and navigation features, as well as looking at the images. People don't read during every single second of a page visit.
  • On average, users will have time to read 28% of the words if they devote all of their time to reading. More realistically, users will read about 20% of the text on the average page

I'm adding a site to the list below and I'm making it bold so you know it is new.

I'm not a big fan of coupons simply because of the time involved - finding them, clipping them, remembering them; but I'm sure many readers use them.

So here is what I have found and I'm looking for your comments on the "best sites"

Coupon Ninja             thousands of coupon codes, promo codes, price discounts and free shipping offers

From http://www.larynandjanel.com/blog/my_experience_with_microstock_sites_so_far_istock_shutterstock_dreamstime_bigstock__canstock.html

“I started uploading images to a handful of microstock sites in February of 2005 as a test to see how it would go. These sites allow people to upload images, which are then sold cheaply for royalty free use, with a certain percentage of the sale going to the photographer. “

Here is a screen shot of his results

Foregone Interest

Many people at various discussions boards have claimed the only thing they lose by signing up for a utility budget plan is the interest. I can’t argue with that, but let’s do some math and see how much you lose over the long term. Based on my earlier post, the difference was $43 over 12 months. An annuity of $43 at 11% (my rate of return) for 30 years is $1477. Now lets take the “I only lose the interest” another step – improper tax withholding. Lets use $40 as your annual refund. An annuity of $40 at 11% for 30 years is $1374. Finally, lets take the “I only lose the interest” one last step – not sweeping idle cash balances into a money market. Assume an average cash balance of  $500 at 4% for 30 years. That comes to $600.

Grand total =  $3451. WOW!  :-))

Beating Inflation and Avoiding Taxes

  • Apr 28, 2008
  • Post a comment

Many Americans are feeling pinched - lower housing values, soaring energy/food prices, and endless taxes & fees.

Here is my philosophy in today's environment: beat inflation, avoid taxes, and create livable alternatives to wage slavery.

One way to do all of these is to invest in the stock market. I know what you're thinking - the market is down this year - but with the right portfolio - it's a cash cow!

Since repositioning my portfolio last year, I'm consistently earning 11% a month through dividends and distributions. In terms of paper gains, I've posted a 4-22 -08 screen shot below. I also avoid payroll taxes since investing is passive income! I spend about 10-15 minutes a day now that my initial buys are done.

So take time to tip me whatever you can afford. Information is not free, and I provide downloadable seminars that save you money and make you money. Aren't you curious about how I've dome it?

Helping Each Other Just For The Love Of It

Freeconomy
Freeconomy

Freeconomy is manifesting the solution to our broken system. It is an implementation of sustainable lifestyle. It is the antithesis to the Story of Stuff.

There are four main ways in which you can share in the community:

  1. Skillshare is about sharing the skills you have learnt throughout your life and learning those you haven't.
  2. Toolshare is an initiative that enables members to have access to every tool under the sun without it costing the earth.
  3. Spaceshare is ideal for people who haven't got enough time or money to support projects they really believe in, but who have got some space to offer.
  4. Landshare asks the question 'Have you got more land than you need or can physically deal with?' If the answer is yes, then join Landshare and give some of it up to the local community as allotments and become part of a local food revolution.
